Great to have potter, Simon Hiles on the Lomond Art journey to being Fife’s number one destination for quality original art.
A vet by profession, Simon now works full time producing fabulous creations in his north east Fife workshop.
Hand made on a kick wheel, before being fired unglazed, Simon’s work feels silky smooth thanks to the application of terra sigillata. All pots are fired within a metal saggar, with assorted salts, oxides and organic materials to ensure a very random finish.
The flashes of colour and the lick of the flames give these pots a unique character, so apart from the Provost Stamp, no two pots are the same.
